Bracelet stretch

Bracelet stretch is the looseness that develops in a metal bracelet over years of wear, as the pins and links wear and the bracelet sags when held horizontally.

Stretch is common on older bracelets, especially folded-link designs, and it reduces value. Heavy stretch can sometimes be reduced by replacing worn pins or links, but not always.

Hold the bracelet sideways from the case and see how far it droops. Describe stretch honestly in your listing.

On collectible references, an original bracelet with some stretch can still be worth more than a newer replacement, so don't discard or swap it without thinking about value.
