Who pays the costs changes everything

The same commission produces very different outcomes depending on who absorbs the selling costs. If fees, shipping, and prep come out of the owner's share, your commission is yours to keep; if they come out of yours, they can consume a large part of it. Settle that point before you agree terms, and put it in writing. The consignment agreement generator builds it into a document.

Commission, flat fee, or fixed net

A commission shares the upside: both sides do better on a higher sale. A flat fee gives you a known amount regardless of price. A fixed net gives the owner certainty and leaves you whatever the watch sells for above it, along with the costs. Comparing them on the same sale shows which suits a particular watch and owner. Common questions

What's a fair consignment commission?

It depends on the watch, the channel, who pays the costs, and how much work the sale takes. Rather than rely on a going rate, work out what you need to keep after costs and set terms that deliver it.

Should selling costs come out before or after the commission?

Either can work, as long as both sides agree in writing. This calculator shows both, so you can see exactly what each arrangement means for the owner and for you.

Can I work out the price needed for the owner's number?

Yes. Switch to the target mode, enter what the owner wants to receive, and the calculator solves for the sale price needed under your chosen terms.
