Provenance

Provenance is the documented history of a watch's ownership and origin, from its original sale through each owner to the present.

Strong provenance, such as original papers, receipts, service records, or a notable previous owner, can add value and reassure buyers. It also protects you: a watch with a clear history is much less likely to be stolen or misrepresented.

Ask every seller how they came to own the watch and record the answer. A clear, consistent story is part of a watch's value.
