Master Chronometer
Master Chronometer is a certification for complete watches, developed with and issued by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, METAS, and used most prominently by Omega.[1]
The testing covers the whole watch, including exposure to a magnetic field of fifteen thousand gauss, with a precision criterion of zero to plus five, up to zero to plus seven, seconds a day depending on the caliber.[1]
For a dealer, the certification is a selling point for current Omega models. As with other certifications, check the watch's present timekeeping rather than relying on the certificate alone.
