What is identical
Worth knowing as much as the differences: these are the specifications you cannot use to tell the two apart.
- Water resistance
- Water-resistant up to 3 bar (approx. 30 meters/100 feet)
Stated for one, not the other
These rows cannot be compared, because one maker publishes the figure and the other does not. An empty cell is a gap in the manufacturer's documentation, not a gap in the watch — and not a licence to fill it in from the other column.
| Crystal | not stated | Sapphire crystal |

What the differences cost you
Each note below follows from the published figures in the tables above — what they mean for intake, for a listing, and for the handover. Nothing here estimates a price or a margin.
Where a shared listing template goes wrong
These two differ on case, thickness, dial, crown, bracelet and movement. None of it changes how either watch is handled, but all of it changes what the listing has to say. Copy from one to the other and those are the fields that end up describing the wrong watch.
What to check on each
WSTA0106
- Quote the case as 33.7 by 25.5 millimetres rather than converting it to a diameter. A Tank is rectangular and has no diameter to state.
- Note that Cartier publishes no crystal material for this reference. Report what you observe on the watch and label it as your own observation rather than as a specification.
- Do not attach a battery life figure to the phrase High Autonomy. Cartier states no number, and one taken from elsewhere is not a specification.
WSTA0129
- Give both case dimensions in the listing. At 25.7 by 21.2 millimetres a single figure will mislead every buyer who reads it, and there is no diameter to quote in any case.
- Watch the seconds display to confirm the movement is quartz as specified, since the Tank Francaise is also made in mechanical versions.
- Check the integrated steel bracelet where it meets the case for stretch and for play at the join, because on a case this small any gap is immediately visible.
