What the differences cost you

Each note below follows from the published figures in the tables above — what they mean for intake, for a listing, and for the handover. Nothing here estimates a price or a margin.

Do not describe these the same way

200 metres on the AB0156161C1S1 against 100 on the AB0145211G1P2. Both are more than daily life asks for, so the number is a listing-accuracy question rather than a practical one: quote each watch its own figure, and remember that neither rating survives an unserviced case by itself.

What to check on each

AB0145211G1P2

  • Read the chronograph registers before you write the listing. Breitling lists this one as quarter seconds and 30 minutes, without the 12-hour totaliser its stablemates carry, so describing it as a 12-hour chronograph is simply wrong.
  • Note the jewel count on the sheet. The same calibre name is published with 47 jewels elsewhere in the range and 41 here, and quoting the wrong figure is an avoidable error in a description.
  • Check the strap is the curved type this reference specifies. A straight strap forced into a curved lug opening sits badly and marks the case where it is pinched.

AB0156161C1S1

  • Quote the 14.55 mm thickness to any buyer who wears a fitted cuff. It is the tallest Breitling case documented here, and height rather than diameter is what a shirt sleeve notices.
  • Match the blue rubber strap to the blue dial under daylight before you photograph either. Rubber and lacquer take colour differently and a mismatch that looks deliberate in one light looks like a replacement strap in another.
  • Verify the chronograph is the 30-minute type published for this reference rather than the 12-hour version used elsewhere on the same calibre name.
